The winner of the IJNMBE Best PhD Award in Biomedical Engineering is Mona Eskandari (Stanford University) for her thesis entitled `Airway mechanics in chronic lung disease: theory, simulation and experiment’.
The runner-ups are:
-Alberto Coccarelli (Cardiff University) for his thesis entitled `Understanding aspects of cardiovascular physiology and disease via a multi-physics modelling methodology‘.
-Federica Caforio (Universite’ Paris-Saclay) for her thesis entitled `Mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of elastic wave propagation in soft tissues with application to cardiac elastography’.
