Events Location

Kobe International Conference Center, Kobe, Japan

Kobe is a city with a population of approximately 1.53 million, the capital of Hyogo Prefecture, and one of Japan’s ten largest cities.

Located between the sea and the Rokko mountain range, Kobe is also considered one of Japan’s most attractive cities. Kobe has been a famous port city for many centuries. Its port was among the first to be opened to foreign trade in the 19th century.

In 1995, Kobe was hit by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Today the city is completely rebuilt, and few signs of the terrible event remain.

Kobe is home to many attractions: Arima Onsen, one of the oldest Hot Springs in Japan. The “ten-million-dollar-night view” from the top of Mt. Rokko. Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. Kobe beef, the world-famous melt-in-your-mouth beef. Sake breweries, where you can see how sake is produced.

The conference banquet for CMBE2026 will be held on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026 at Kobe Portopia Hotel, Kobe, Japan.

By Air – If you are planning to travel to Kobe International Conference Center, Kobe, Japan by air, you will likely fly into one of the nearby airports – Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Osaka International (Itami) Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, you can reach Kobe by Bay Shuttle Ferry (to Kobe Airport) or Limousine Bus (to Sannomiya Station). From either Kobe airport or Sannomiya Station, transfer to the Port Liner (an automated monorail) and ride to Shimin-Hiroba Station, which is the closest stop to the Kobe International Conference Center.

By Train – If you are traveling to the Kobe International Conference Center by train, several railways are available: JR (Japan Railways), Hankyu Railway, and Hanshin Railway. Take the train to Sannomiya Station, which serves as a central transportation hub in Kobe, and transfer to the Port Liner (an automated monorail) and ride to Shimin-Hiroba Station, which is the closest stop to the Kobe International Conference Center. Alternatively, you can take a taxi directly from Shin-Kobe Station to the conference center.

Commuting from Osaka or Kyoto by Train – We recommend taking the fastest available service on each line—for example, Shinkaisoku or Kaisoku for JR, Limited Express or Express for Hanshin and Hankyu—for a quicker journey to Sannomiya Station. At Sannomiya Station, transfer to the Port Liner (an automated monorail) and ride to Shimin-Hiroba Station, which is the closest stop to the Kobe International Conference Center.
