Computational and Mathematical Biomedical Engineering (CMBE Series)
Computational and mathematical modelling applied to biological problems is a rapidly expanding research area with the promise of considerable implications on human health and wellbeing, supporting the development of appropriate diagnostic tools, new instrumentation and medical devices to enable better clinical outcomes.
The International Conference on Computational & Mathematical Biomedical Engineering (CMBE) aims at bringing together fellow researchers and academics, specialists of several disciplines, practitioners and graduate students with a common interest, to discuss the current state of the art of computational biomedical engineering research. Excellence at doctoral level research are also celebrated via the IJNMBE Best Doctoral Thesis in Biomedical Engineering Award – see the CMBE awards page for more information.
CMBE conference series started in 2009 in Swansea University, UK. The subsequent meetings were held at George Mason University, USA (2011), City University of Hong Kong HK SAR (2013), Ecole Normal Superieure de Cachan France (2015), University of Pittsburgh, USA (2017), Tohoku University, Japan (2019), Politecnico di Milano, Italy (2022), George Mason University, Arlington Campus, USA (2024) and Kobe International Conference Center, Kobe, Japan (2026).
The themes of the conference are broad-ranging, with a balanced coverage of theoretical or fundamental aspects, implementation of new methodologies, assessment, verification/validation and varied applications of computational and numerical modelling to various problems in biomedical engineering. A selection of the topics of interest are listed below:
